Hello, and welcome to Boatshed Hayling Island. Now, a Boatshed International Yacht brokerage based on Hayling Island, especially to deal with the needs of boat owners on Hayling Island and its environs. It is my privilege to have this brokerage to operate under the BoatshedHaylingIsland.com banner and to introduce you, the local boating community to the worldwide Boatshed brokerage network. My background is film and television sound but I have been sailing for over 40 years and most of it has been from around Chichester harbour and Hayling Island. I started back in the black and white days on friends’ parents’ Westerly Centaur out on the east coast then to a Westerly Renown in the then brand new Brighton marina.
I met my wife on a sailing weekend in Chichester Harbour a very long time ago and the rest, as they say, is history.
I took part in the 1985 “Fastnet” race as part of a BBC1 series “in at the Deep End” with Chris Searle. In 2003 I sailed “Firefly”, as owned by Yachting Worlds’ editor Andrew Bray across the Atlantic from Antigua to Horta. By total contrast in 2006 I was in Rendsburg in Northern Germany installing Audio Visual systems on a 78meter Super yacht. I am also lucky enough to write regular reviews of yacht charter holidays for “Sailing Today” magazine. An RYA Yachtmaster I am never far from the sea.
All of these experiences have been enjoyable but only now, through the Boatshed International brokerage network am I able to spend my entire life working with boats. It certainly makes it worthwhile getting up in the morning.

Directions to Northney Marina:
Directions by Car
Northney Marina is conveniently located at the northern tip of Hayling Island, and is readily accessible from the A27. Whether travelling East or West along the A27 exit at the junction of the A3023 / B2149, marked Hayling Island / Havant.
Having left the A27, take the exit from the roundabout marked A3023 Haying Island. Proceed 1 mile south. After crossing Langstone Bridge, turn immediately left into Northney Road. Northney Marina is directly to the rear of the Langstone Hotel.
Directions by Train
The nearest train station is Havant. This is on the mainline to London Waterloo (approx 1.5 hrs), and also has rail connections to Portsmouth, Southampton, Chichester and Brighton.
Once arriving at Havant we recommend you take a taxi the two and half mile trip to the marina. Alternatively the number 30, 31, or 32 buses stop at the end of Northney Road (get off at the Texaco Garage) which is approximately a 1/4 mile walk to the marina.
